The vocal group Day 26 formed during the 4th season of MTV’s Making the Band music TV show.
The name of the band refers to August 26, 2007, the day that MTV’s Making the Band reality show turned band members Mike McCluney, Brian Andrews, Robert Curry, Qwanell Mosley, and Willie Taylor into music recording artists.
After winning Making the Band Day 26 were signed to Bad Boy Records by Sean “Puffy” Combs (label’s boss).
Their debut single, “Got Me Going” was released February 2008, with their debut album (also called Day 26) following in March.
